Four products that can be used in more than one ways!
Sometimes
you don’t need multiple products to get a particular beauty trick done. So,
here are some products that have multi-purpose features and save you space
in your beauty case as well as money!
Cover Girl's
Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara
or Any Mascara with A Dry Texture
This
particular mascara is a very inexpensive drugstore mascara, which I bought at
some point to test out. Even though the results were satisfactory, I discovered
I could also use it to shape my brows! You can create a very nice arch by
flicking upwards at the desired point on your brows and then brushing the hair
downwards for the remaining of the brow. No eye brow gel needed. And the
mascara’s color and stick texture has done the work for both eyebrow powder and
shaping gel! Just make sure to wipe off the excess before using the mascara on
your brows, otherwise, you’ll end up with too much product on your brows!
Essence
of Beauty Trio Eye Shadow
or Any Eye
Shadow trio with a mat brown eye shadow
| The brown color in the middle can also be used for contouring |
This is
a lovely eye shadow pallet that comes with a light gold-yellow eye shadow and
two brown eye shadows: one light brown and one darker. The darker brown eye shadow is a
great shade for contouring the face! Honestly, you don’t need contouring powder
if you own a dark brown eye shadow (with no shimmer) or a pallet that has one!
Baked
Eye shadow Trio – Pink Bliss
or Any Eye shadow with a light pink, darker pink
and gold shimmering texture
This
eye shadow is separated into three parts that can be used independently but if combined
basically produce the results of a shimmering highlighter. You can use some
with your blush brush to highlight your cheeks and high points of your face but
also use the eye shadows to create a very sweet romantic look :)
BB
Diamond Collection – Pearl
or any BB cream with a shimmering texture
While I
was very interested in trying out all the other BB creams that came with the BB
cream sample I ordered from yesstyle.com a while back, I was disappointed by
the fact that the sample included this particular BB cream. As I mentioned in
my BB cream review, I don’t think that shimmering bb creams are applicable:
walking around looking like you dipped your face in glitter just doesn’t work
for me. None the less, after experimenting with this BB cream, I discovered
that it was be easily and effectively used as an eye shadow primer due to its
mat texture! In addition to that, it has a glittering finish which makes it
look like you have a light glittering eye shadow on! So, if you're not a fan of shimmering BB Creams, you can still get some use out of them if you somehow end up with one.

Skin79 BB Cream Review
Hi
guys,
Here
is a detailed review of four Skin79 BB creams that I purchased recently from
yesstyle.com. They came in sample sizes, each lasting a week or more (depending
on the amount you personally use). I was really excited to test these because
sampling new products is a great way to find the perfect fit for your skin type
and discover new products, but also a way to avoid purchasing a large package of a
product that ends up being a bad fit!
First,
we have the Super Plus BB Triple Perfection that comes in a fun hot pink
package.
It lists that it has whitening, wrinkle improvement and UV protection
features; its consistency is also thicker than the other BB creams I have used
over time. However, it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and I can even say that
it blends perfectly despite its thicker texture. What I love about this BB
cream is that it can instantly make the skin look more illuminated and
well-rested and it can also double up as concealer. I have even used it as a
primer for my lids (I have pretty oily lids) and it has worked, because of its
texture. I can’t say I saw much of a wrinkle improvement while using this
product, but maybe it needs more than a week of using to see a difference.
However, it instantly makes dark circles and redness go away which contributes
to a more well-rested and natural look without whitening the face.
Next
we have the Super Plus BB Cream – VIP Gold Collection.
This BB creams focuses
more on improving wrinkles and protecting the skin from UV exposure due to its
golden caviar extracts. Its texture is similar to the Triple Perfection BB
cream listed above, offering perfect coverage, evening of the skin tone, illumination and
moisture. However, this BB cream's action does focus more on wrinkles and after only a
week of using it, I can say I have seen a small improvement on the wrinkles and
small marks around my eye area. My problem wasn’t big to begin with, so perhaps
this isn’t a product for someone looking to cure deeper-set wrinkles but none
the less, I was impressed by how this product worked with my skin. Overall, the
difference between the hot pink Triple Function BB cream and the VIP Gold
Collection BB Cream is not huge, so don’t worry too much on missing something
out by not trying them both :P
This
is the Diamond Collection – The Prestige BB cream.
So, this is one of my
favorite BB creams to this day, even though I am now torn between this and the
Triple Function/VIP Gold BB creams. I
have talked about this BB cream in a previous post where I compared and
contrasted it with the Boscia BB cream, so I won’t say much. I will add
however, that the consistency is less thick than the Triple Function/VIP Gold
BB creams and you might sometimes need to double it up to cover certain areas.
Its texture is great, very nourishing and moisturizing and it also has caviar, Adenogen,
Butene, Aloe extracts, Latin America
Hadatamo, Peptide MX Complex, Lotus extracts and a variety of other elements
that aim to restore the skin, hydrate, protect and maintain elasticity. Still,
one of my favorite BB creams to date.
Lastly,
the fourth BB cream is the BB Diamond Collection Pearl – Luminous Beblesh Balm.
This BB cream has shimmering/glitter features... Not a fan of these
products at all. Glitter is ok ONLY on Halloween or if your profession requires
it for some reason… Otherwise, you just look like you did something illegal to a pixie fairy... Overall, not practical at all, however this is why samples
exist. If you bought this at a store or (worse) ordered it online without
getting a chance to test it out at all, that would’ve been money down the drain…
None the less, if you do end up with this product and you’re not into the whole
“Tinkerbelle face” thing, I figured out a way to use it productively: as an
eyelid primer. If anything it ends up looking like a glittering eye shadow and
it adds a little extra to your eye makeup without looking overdone ;)

Exploring BB Creams...
For the past few months, BB creams have
completely substituted foundation for me; when I get pimples I rely on
concealer to provide a more even coverage on the infected area and the result
still looks great without the use of additional (and heavier) foundation. I
started with the BB Diamond Collection - The Prestige BB Cream and at the end
of this summer I purchased the Boscia BB cream to try out. Both products have
been tested in various environments (hot or cold weather, for example) and the
review is based also on how my skin reacted to each BB cream as well as what I
have come to expect from a BB cream.
Let’s start with the BB Diamond Collection cream since I purchased this first.
Pros:
- Perfect
coverage with one pump: One pump is enough for the entire face and neck.
And it covers up everything too – no need to add more product here and there.
Like I mentioned before, BB creams might not cover up pimples and the like
(they’re more for hydrating and making the skin tone more even-looking), but a
good concealer helps out just as well. The coverage for this BB cream is
fantastic; my skin looks like it’s glowing without looking too shiny.
- Feels
lighter and more hydrating on skin: I don’t know what this cream is made of
(^__^) but every time I put it on it feels like I’m putting on moisturizer
again! Except it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin (like when you’re piling up the
products), instead it re-hydrates my skin, which helps a lot since I have a
mixed skin type and it hydrates the dry spots while nourishing the rest of the
face as well.
- Additional
feature: Whitening. The results of the whitening features are not that
drastic. You can hardly notice a difference when you take the cream off.
Whatever whitening takes place manifests in a clearer and more
well-rested-looking skin once the BB cream is removed.
- Wrinkle
improvement: I’m one of those “Prevent Now Instead of Cure Later ” people. That
doesn’t mean I only buy anti-aging products but I appreciate a product that can
also prevent aging. Especially since
I live in a country where the sunlight is pretty strong and it’s good to have
products that protect your skin from harmful sunrays.
- 40
g goes a long way: I have been using the same BB cream bottle I ordered in
April 2012 and there’s still a lot of product left. I can’t really tell how
much is left since the bottle is not see-through but the amount of product
coming out of the dispenser has remained consistent over the months of use.
Cons:
- Warmer
Weather Weakness: When I came back home for the summer and started using
the BB cream in my country’s hot summer weather, it immediately felt too oily
on my skin and it showed; I had to use finishing powder to keep everything in
place but that made the whole result feel heavier on my face. It might also
have been my skin reacting to the weather change; however I noticed that I was
only able to start using this BB cream and get the same great results as before
once summer passed and the weather became cold again.
- Packaging
is not Travel-friendly: Every time I had to go away, I had to worry about
the cap falling off or the bottle breaking because it was being pressed up
against something in the suitcase. I usually solve the problem by wrapping it
up in a few pairs of socks (^__^)
- Standard
SPF (25): If the sun is not a problem for you, then just skip this. This
wasn’t even a problem for me when I use this cream; my face is protected
perfectly well with SPF25. However, my other BB cream has a higher SPF which is
always welcomed by me since I burn like it’s nobody’s business.
p.s This BB cream comes in a shade that favors lighter skin tones, but unless you have really dark skin, I would try out a sample first.
After being
extremely impressed with the BB Diamond Collection cream, I decided to purchase
another one from a different company so as to also have the opportunity to
compare and contrast.
So, let’s move on to the Boscia BB Cream
Pros:
- SPF
27 (without making the face look extremely white): Most of the times, a higher SPF
means that the face might look whiter in photos and such, however I didn’t
notice that happening with this BB cream. I’ve worn it instead of foundation to
most of my outings and it doesn’t seem to add any whiteness to my face. None
the less, I might not be the best judge for this, since I am naturally pretty
pale and the difference in skin tone may not show on my skin.
- Oil-free:
Again, since my skin type is mixed, sometimes foundation and other overly
hydrating products make my skin look oily in certain areas. This BB cream
controls oil and offers an even coverage.
- One
shade fits all: The product description states that it fits each skin type,
as it a self-adjusting BB cream.
- Great
coverage/makes skin mat: The coverage with this BB cream is also really
satisfying and it also seems to make skin mat – more than the other BB cream,
which gives a more radiant, glowing skin. This is not to say that the skin
looks dull with the Boscia BB cream, but since it is an oil-free formula, the
results are more evident.
- 50
g: There’s more product in a smaller bottle. And it’s much easier to travel
with!
Cons:
- One
pump is not enough: In the process of using this product, I have come to
notice that one pump (or a squeeze, since there’s no pump-out dispenser), is
not enough to cover the entire face. Also, the product doesn’t spread as well
as the other BB cream; it needs more work to make sure there are no random
streaks on the jawline etc. In addition to that, the texture feels less
soothing on my skin, compared to the feeling of the BB Diamond Collection.
- Runs
out fast: Even though there is more product in this package (10 g more than
the BB Diamond Collection Cream), I have almost run out of the Boscia BB cream,
butI started using it in early July 2012!
- No
whitening: This BB cream doesn’t come with whitening features. Again, this
is not so important for me, since whitening is not a priority or a concern.
A review of three other Skin79 (the company that distributes the BB Diamond Collection - The Prestige BB Cream) coming up soon ;)
