Arpirin acne mask

When you’re sick, you take aspirin to reduce inflammation. When you have an unhappy pimple, you’d do anything to reduce the inflammation. You’re curious to see if it will work on blemishes the same way it works on a fever, so you make a paste and try it out. Eureka!! The pimple has calmed down and is much smaller. Nuff said! Here’s how:
TOOLS:
  • aspirin
  • hand sanitizer
  • spoon
  • distilled water
  • small bowl
  • glass palette (optional)
STEPS:
  1. Sanitize your fingers by washing them with anti-bacterial soap or sanitizing spray. I love Burt’s Bees Hand Sanitizer because it has aloe and witch hazel in it which are both very soothing.
  2. Place one aspirin under a spoon. Place the palm of your hand on top of the spoon and press down over and over in a rolling motion until the aspirin is evenly crushed into a powder.
3.Add a drop of distilled water (I sprayed the spoon with the sanitizing spray then filled it with distilled water and poured one drop over the crushed aspirin).

4.Mix it together with your finger and decide if you need to add another drop. I added one more drop to make the paste, but you might not need to, or might have to add two.
5.With your finger, cover the blemish with the paste.

    1. Wait 5 minutes for the paste to work then gently rinse off with water.

But if you’re allergic to aspirin, sadly, this mask isn’t for you.

Scarlet Johansson Inspired - Summer look

Hello!!!

Here is a quick and easy make up look that is great for summer nights, inspired by Scarlet Johansson’s photo shoot for Dolce & Gabbana. Even though it’s not a complicated look, it will bring out your eyes and compliment every skin tone.

So, here is a picture of the look

Start out with applying a primer to your lids to prevent the eye shadows from creasing. Especially during the summer, when the weather’s hotter, your make up can slip and slide and get ruined. An eye shadow primer will prevent that from happening and will also make the colors look more vibrant. You can also apply the primer on your lower lash line since we're going to be using colors there as well.

Select a copper or sand-colored eye shadow and apply that on your lid. Stop when you reach the crease. If you don’t know where your crease is, just press your eye shadow brush gently on your eye socket and see where it becomes hollow. Blend to avoid any harsh lines. If you need help creating a sharper look when the eye shadow reaches the outer corners of your eyes, you can apply some scotch tape on each side and remove it when you’re done.

Now select a darker brown eye shadow and apply that on and above your crease. In the picture, Scarlet seems to have most of the darker color on the outer corners of her eyes. By applying a darker color above your crease, you are making your eyes look larger and also you’re making the look more dimensional, less flat.

Apply some of the dark brown eye shadow on your lower lash line as well to balance out the look.

Select a shimmering white eye shadow (or a shimmering flesh toned one) and add that under your brows blending it with the copper/sand-colored eye shadow. A lighter eye shadow below the brows highlights the look.

 Finally, apply your eyeliner

Scarlet is wearing a very classic eye liner in the picture and to recreate that, all you need is a felt-tip eyeliner or a very thin eye liner brush. Start by making small strokes along the lash line, starting at the inner corner and work your way out. Flick the tip of your brush upwards to create a perfect cat eye. Stay as close to the lash line as possible. If you have small eyes or very little lid space, make sure you keep the eyeliner line as thin as possible so as to not cover the other eye shadows.

Apply generous coats of mascara, one that adds length and volume!!!!

Add some blush to your cheeks of if you prefer to sculpt your cheeks, add some bronzer under your cheek bones to make your face look slimmer. Apply the bronzer under your cheek bones, following an upward motion. This will also give you a face lift!

For the lips, Scarlet is wearing a rose pink colored lipstick, but since the eyes are very neutral, they can go with everything. If you want, you can wear a red lipstick as well and make it a more glamorous look. You can also leave the lips bare for a day look.

Enjoy!!!

Maybelline smokey eyes line review!

I am a fan of smokey eyes...I think that for girls like me with small eyes ..makes my eyes look bigger and more mysterious .

At first i bought the smokey-eyes pencil with is awesome you just need to draw lines on your lid and under your eye and then smudge it with the sponge that there is on the other side of the pencil!

If you want a more dramatic look you can always use an eyeliner I love the Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner – Trooper (Thank you *S)

And after that I use the maybelline  smokey eyes mascara with has the effect of volume witch I love but also is so black that makes your eyes pop out!

So far I've bought the black, brown and blue and they're all awesome! Try them!

NIVEA Review

Today, I’ll be reviewing some of the deodorants from the NIVEA Antiperspirant Deodorant Spray series. I came across this series when I was looking for an alternative to the regular stick deodorant, since the stick would often leave white marks on my shirts. I’m not bashing the stick deodorants and they work well for a lot of people; I still use them myself sometimes.

NIVEA’S Invisible for Black and White Pure:

I bought this after I saw the commercial with that lady with the half-white-half-black dress dancing around without a care because she had no sweat stains! No, but seriously, I was interested in seeing how the product would work on different colored fabric and I wasn’t disappointed. I have yet to wear a black and white shirt and test the deodorant in that way but I can safely say that it does what it promises: no white marks on your dark shirts and no yellow stains on your white clothes. It also feels very light and has a very fresh smell to it. Sometimes stick deodorants would feel a bit heavy and the smell was kind of as if I had sterilized my under arm area, which didn’t feel all too good. And no more white stains on anything! (YAY)

NIVEA’s Double Effect Violet Senses:

I picked this up because of the “avocado extracts” sign. Avocado is generally known for giving you soothing skin, since it’s very moisturizing and can be good for you whether you use it in facial masks, hair masks or just eating it (^^). This deodorant promises a long lasting sense of soft skin, which I can’t say I have put to the test. I can definitely testify as to whether it does a good job or not in maintaining your feel of clean and fresh – and the answer is yes. This is currently my favorite deodorant and the fact that the bottle is purple adds some extra points (my favorite color is purple). The smell with this one is also different: it has some flowery scent to it, which is a nice change.

NIVEA’S Calm and Care:

I shave my under arm area almost on a daily basis – which I don’t recommend. But especially in the summer time, I can’t avoid it, the hair seems to grow to a noticeable state overnight and I feel really self-conscious when heading to the beach and the like. This deodorant helped a little with the irritation that shaving causes, since it’s made for that as well. Its protection from sweat lasts only for 24 hours, but the bottle is easy to throw in your bag and “touch up” during the day if you think you need to. Its smell is similar to the Black and White one.  I have been using it right after shaving and it seems to help sooth my skin a lot.

As I might have mentioned before, I love products that are travel friendly. I hate worrying about bottles breaking in my suitcase and pouring all over things (ugh…). The NIVEA spray deodorants are great for traveling or just carrying around with you as you’re running from place to place during the day. The only disadvantage I would list with this series is that even the products that are listed as “48 hours protection”, barely pass the 24 hour test. Even though I feel sorry for the person who has to run non-stop for more than 24 hours with no break whatsoever, it would be nice for these deodorants to be a little more long lasting. Other than that, I find the spray deodorants to be a better replacement to the stick, since they are overall more light and don’t leave any marks on your clothes

The Devil's in the Details

Having to paint your nails every two or three days cuz your regular polish chips can be annoying but also requires a lot of time and money. That’s why all the “permanent” solutions are so popular. There are a lot of different options, such as silk, acrylic, gel and the newest UV gel nail polish, many of which you can do at home as well! Having experienced all of these options, I can enlighten you if you want to find the best option for you.

-      Acrylic: It has been a long time since it was in fashion. A lot of people find acrylic nails fake looking and, in my opinion, if you don’t have a problem with your nail length (if you don’t chew on them or if they naturally break), don’t try them. It’s impossible to put them on alone, but even if you go to a nail salon, when you take them off your nails will be weak, thin and damaged. It takes them a lot of time to recover and you might have to spend extra money on their recovery.

-      Silk: It’s a great solution because the result is more natural looking. Your nails won’t be destroyed after you take them off but it’s also pretty difficult to do it alone at home. But, if you are a fan of colors, like me, you’ll find a disadvantage in the fact that they only come in the style of French manicure.

-      Gel: Well, my almost favorite. If you have some time to spend learning how to do it alone, you can do it at home! It’s not very easy, but it’s not too hard either. It demands a lot of time but the result is great, natural and it doesn’t chip. There are plenty of colors to choose from. It makes your nails stronger as long as you wear it. The only disadvantage is that when you eventually take it off your nails will be weak, but not weak enough to crack or become damaged.

-      UV Gel Polish: I can’t hide that this is my favorite. It’s so easy; the process is exactly the same as painting your nails with an ordinary nail polish. The only extra thing you need to do is to put every layer under the UV light for 2-3 minutes. And then, your nails are shiny and strong, same as in the Gel technique, for at least 20 days. There are also a lot of colors to choose from. It takes me about 30 minutes to do it but for 20 days I don’t have to worry about my nails, because afterwards they are perfect; also, UV Gels can’t be scratched, so the product remains shiny and flawless.

Jessica Rabbit Make Up Tips

 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoDO0mIq7ozZcJ4HeTyJ49I1eR_-sfKfvbuzb-AV2b3CpkgFWVQSikRlHbqhSveLCk2yVO0zicJg4MP_qyUFDKp7PkwjyW_aASHzAJ3vHXvLNLsfz2m6n8hH4-gdAiv93ek-DHvBG37qRi/s400/JR+for+blog2.jpg

Well nobody can transform into a cartoon...but we can certainly try to adopt the lustful gaze Jessica Rabbit has!

You are going to need:

  • very good cream foundation half tone lighter than your face and a concealer.
  • bronze blush two tones darker than your foundation and a big brush to apply
  • a good black eye-liner, light purple, pink, purple and brown eye-shadow and mascara
  • and of course a red lip-liner (check witch tone of red fits you best..otherwise you're gonna hate the result) and a same tone red lipstick and lip-gloss
You have to apply carefully your foundation and concealer so your skin looks perfect.Tthen you take a big-fat brush and apply your blush under your cheek bones and on the top of your nose ..the easy part is done!

Now carefully apply pink eyeshadow to your upper lid then put  thelight purple shadow only on the start of the upper lid (pic 1)... then you have to apply dark purple on the upper lid (pic 2) on the right..in the end you apply the brown shadow in the end of the upper lid and under the eye carefully with a thin hard brush (pic 3)

You have to paint your lips carefully with the red lip-liner..then with the lipstick and in the end you apply the lip-gloss! READY!

Exploring BB Creams...

For the past few months, BB creams have completely substituted foundation for me; when I get pimples I rely on concealer to provide a more even coverage on the infected area and the result still looks great without the use of additional (and heavier) foundation. I started with the BB Diamond Collection - The Prestige BB Cream and at the end of this summer I purchased the Boscia BB cream to try out. Both products have been tested in various environments (hot or cold weather, for example) and the review is based also on how my skin reacted to each BB cream as well as what I have come to expect from a BB cream.

Let’s start with the BB Diamond Collection cream since I purchased this first.

Pros:

-           Perfect coverage with one pump: One pump is enough for the entire face and neck. And it covers up everything too – no need to add more product here and there. Like I mentioned before, BB creams might not cover up pimples and the like (they’re more for hydrating and making the skin tone more even-looking), but a good concealer helps out just as well. The coverage for this BB cream is fantastic; my skin looks like it’s glowing without looking too shiny.

-           Feels lighter and more hydrating on skin: I don’t know what this cream is made of (^__^) but every time I put it on it feels like I’m putting on moisturizer again! Except it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin (like when you’re piling up the products), instead it re-hydrates my skin, which helps a lot since I have a mixed skin type and it hydrates the dry spots while nourishing the rest of the face as well.

-           Additional feature: Whitening. The results of the whitening features are not that drastic. You can hardly notice a difference when you take the cream off. Whatever whitening takes place manifests in a clearer and more well-rested-looking skin once the BB cream is removed.

-           Wrinkle improvement: I’m one of those “Prevent Now Instead of Cure Later ” people. That doesn’t mean I only buy anti-aging products but I appreciate a product that can also prevent aging. Especially since I live in a country where the sunlight is pretty strong and it’s good to have products that protect your skin from harmful sunrays.

-           40 g goes a long way: I have been using the same BB cream bottle I ordered in April 2012 and there’s still a lot of product left. I can’t really tell how much is left since the bottle is not see-through but the amount of product coming out of the dispenser has remained consistent over the months of use.

 Cons:

-           Warmer Weather Weakness: When I came back home for the summer and started using the BB cream in my country’s hot summer weather, it immediately felt too oily on my skin and it showed; I had to use finishing powder to keep everything in place but that made the whole result feel heavier on my face. It might also have been my skin reacting to the weather change; however I noticed that I was only able to start using this BB cream and get the same great results as before once summer passed and the weather became cold again.

-           Packaging is not Travel-friendly: Every time I had to go away, I had to worry about the cap falling off or the bottle breaking because it was being pressed up against something in the suitcase. I usually solve the problem by wrapping it up in a few pairs of socks (^__^)

-           Standard SPF (25): If the sun is not a problem for you, then just skip this. This wasn’t even a problem for me when I use this cream; my face is protected perfectly well with SPF25. However, my other BB cream has a higher SPF which is always welcomed by me since I burn like it’s nobody’s business.
p.s This BB cream comes in a shade that favors lighter skin tones, but unless you have really dark skin, I would try out a sample first.

After being extremely impressed with the BB Diamond Collection cream, I decided to purchase another one from a different company so as to also have the opportunity to compare and contrast.
So, let’s move on to the Boscia BB Cream

Pros:

-           SPF 27 (without making the face look extremely white): Most of the times, a higher SPF means that the face might look whiter in photos and such, however I didn’t notice that happening with this BB cream. I’ve worn it instead of foundation to most of my outings and it doesn’t seem to add any whiteness to my face. None the less, I might not be the best judge for this, since I am naturally pretty pale and the difference in skin tone may not show on my skin.

-           Oil-free: Again, since my skin type is mixed, sometimes foundation and other overly hydrating products make my skin look oily in certain areas. This BB cream controls oil and offers an even coverage.

-           One shade fits all: The product description states that it fits each skin type, as it a self-adjusting BB cream.

-           Great coverage/makes skin mat: The coverage with this BB cream is also really satisfying and it also seems to make skin mat – more than the other BB cream, which gives a more radiant, glowing skin. This is not to say that the skin looks dull with the Boscia BB cream, but since it is an oil-free formula, the results are more evident.

-           50 g: There’s more product in a smaller bottle. And it’s much easier to travel with!

Cons:

-           One pump is not enough: In the process of using this product, I have come to notice that one pump (or a squeeze, since there’s no pump-out dispenser), is not enough to cover the entire face. Also, the product doesn’t spread as well as the other BB cream; it needs more work to make sure there are no random streaks on the jawline etc. In addition to that, the texture feels less soothing on my skin, compared to the feeling of the BB Diamond Collection.

-           Runs out fast: Even though there is more product in this package (10 g more than the BB Diamond Collection Cream), I have almost run out of the Boscia BB cream, butI started using it in early July 2012!

-           No whitening: This BB cream doesn’t come with whitening features. Again, this is not so important for me, since whitening is not a priority or a concern.
A review of three other Skin79 (the company that distributes the BB Diamond Collection - The Prestige BB Cream) coming up soon ;)
