A taste of magic ;)

Hello all,

Yesterday, a friend invited me out to this lovely café in downtown Athens (specifically in Egaleo) called Cap Cap. It's located within walking distance from the Egaleo subway station, the street is called Panormou (number 26). I hadn’t heard of this place before and according to my friend, not many people did either. None the less, when we did arrive at the spot, there was a queue outside! Thankfully we didn’t need to wait too much and within the next 30 minutes we were sitting in one of the most unique spots in Athens – at least in my humble opinion.

The entire café is themed after magical tales and movies. There were references mainly from Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland, but I spotted a few more: some cupcakes were named after the story from Beauty and the Beast for example.

Because I feel that the city lacks places like this, I felt I should share my experiences with whoever is looking for something similar.

So here are some pictures from our outing last night. Enjoy!!!

There was an upstairs seating area, so my friends and I sat there... This is the view from up there :)

This is what the ceiling and walls looked like where we were sitting. The stairs were covered in grass and the tables had piles of books instead of regular legs.

From left: Alice's magical potion that would make her small or big (the description in the menu said to drink at your own risk), Butterbeer from Harry Potter and a tea called "Dream extract". Does it get more magical than that? :P

Here are some more pictures of the different cupcakes and sweets that were available.

This is called the "Basilisk Cake"

I didn't manage to get pictures of these, but there were some other cute elements I definitely loved, like the fact that the bathroom mirror had a writing on it that read "The chamber of secrets is opened, enemies of the heir beware" and that the toilets had signs over them that read "This way to the ministry of magic" :P There were a number of lovely paintings with scenes from Beauty and the Beast and the Hobbit, to name a few, as well as magical brooms that hung from the ceiling!

If you guys are fans of Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, or frankly, magic in general, you should definitely try this place out!!!

Enjoy your week
