Tokidoki Make up brush review (^___^)
Makeup
brushes are essential to getting a good result when you’re doing your routine
make up or even when trying something new! Good make up brushes offer precision
when applying products and also blend well, giving an overall flawless finish.
For the past couple of years, I have been faithful to my Tokidoki brushes,
which have overall proven to be a good investment.
Here
is a description of each brush’s use and also my take on how the brushes have
done when applying differently textured eye shadows.
The Tokidoki Eyeliner Brush (Donutella): This brush is absolutely amazing. It has
precision even when I forget to clean it for the longest time (yeah… I should
just clean the brush) and it works great with gel liner as well as powder
liner. Soft to the touch and the delicate skin of the eyelids.
The Tokidoki Eye shadow Brush (Mozzarella): Seriously, my best purchase ever since I
started looking into the makeup brush issue. It does more than just apply the
eye shadow perfectly, I can also use it for blending and underlining my eyes;
sometimes I only use this brush and then briefly brush over it with the Crease
Brush.
The Siberia Blush Brush: A great blush brush with a pretty neat design to it as well. Applies blush as well as bronzer or any kind of powder really well!! It has a slight angled shape which leads me to believe that it might not be good for applying finishing powder but I haven’t tried it, so I wouldn’t know :P
Overall, I spend a total of $65 for these
four brushes, which I consider a pretty decent investment, considering their
quality and design. You can also find the Tokidoki collections online (at
Amazon etc.) and they usually offer a pretty good discount so you can factor
them into your personal budget. The details on the brushes add an extra bit of
fantasy to them, which makes your makeup routine all the more fun! Every brush
is dedicated to a Tokidoki character and the bristles on each brush match the
color of the character. They are also made with some pretty damage-resistant
material, so they don’t bend or break (but seriously, don’t try to break them). Aside from that, I
haven’t had to look for other brushes since I got the Tokidoki ones and
honestly, it’s nice to know that I just need four brushes to do any make up
style J

NIVEA Review
Today,
I’ll be reviewing some of the deodorants from the NIVEA Antiperspirant Deodorant Spray series. I came
across this series when I was looking for an alternative to the regular stick
deodorant, since the stick would often leave white marks on my shirts. I’m not
bashing the stick deodorants and they work well for a lot of people; I still
use them myself sometimes.
NIVEA’S Invisible for Black
and White Pure:
I bought this after I saw the commercial with
that lady with the half-white-half-black dress dancing around without a care
because she had no sweat stains! No, but seriously, I was interested in seeing
how the product would work on different colored fabric and I wasn’t
disappointed. I have yet to wear a black and white shirt and test the deodorant
in that way but I can safely say that it does what it promises: no white marks
on your dark shirts and no yellow stains on your white clothes. It also feels
very light and has a very fresh smell to it. Sometimes stick deodorants would
feel a bit heavy and the smell was kind of as if I had sterilized my under arm
area, which didn’t feel all too good. And no more white stains on anything!
(YAY)
NIVEA’s Double Effect Violet
Senses:
I
picked this up because of the “avocado extracts” sign. Avocado is generally
known for giving you soothing skin, since it’s very moisturizing and can be
good for you whether you use it in facial masks, hair masks or just eating it
(^^). This deodorant promises a long lasting sense of soft skin, which I can’t
say I have put to the test. I can definitely testify as to whether it does a
good job or not in maintaining your feel of clean and fresh – and the answer is
yes. This is currently my favorite deodorant and the fact that the bottle is
purple adds some extra points (my favorite color is purple). The smell with
this one is also different: it has some flowery scent to it, which is a nice
change.
NIVEA’S Calm and Care:
I
shave my under arm area almost on a daily basis – which I don’t recommend. But
especially in the summer time, I can’t avoid it, the hair seems to grow to a
noticeable state overnight and I feel really self-conscious when heading to the
beach and the like. This deodorant helped a little with the irritation that
shaving causes, since it’s made for that as well. Its protection from sweat
lasts only for 24 hours, but the bottle is easy to throw in your bag and “touch
up” during the day if you think you need to. Its smell is similar to the Black
and White one. I have been using it
right after shaving and it seems to help sooth my skin a lot.
As
I might have mentioned before, I love products that are travel friendly. I hate
worrying about bottles breaking in my suitcase and pouring all over things
(ugh…). The NIVEA spray deodorants are great for traveling or just carrying
around with you as you’re running from place to place during the day. The only
disadvantage I would list with this series is that even the products that are
listed as “48 hours protection”, barely pass the 24 hour test. Even though I
feel sorry for the person who has to run non-stop for more than 24 hours with no
break whatsoever, it would be nice for these deodorants to be a little more
long lasting. Other than that, I find the spray deodorants to be a better replacement
to the stick, since they are overall more light and don’t leave any marks on
your clothes

A Traveler's Guide to Ireland Part 1
A Hundred Thousand Welcomes!
Welcome
to Ireland!
Gongrats, you made the –right- decision to visit Ireland and
you won’t be sorry. It’s a beautiful country, filled with wonderful things to
do and see (and it’s not so expensive to do so). So, here’s a small travel
guide to the Emerald Isle, based on my experiences of visiting the land of
Guinness Beer :P
(And
let’s be clear, if you’re under the drinking age of 17 here in Europe, you’re
not getting any Guinness or alcohol in general)
Arriving:
The Crown Bar - Belfast, Ireland |
You
will most likely land in Belfast, which is in Northern Ireland and under
British rule. It’s a wonderful place with rich history, one that you should
totally explore and learn about if you feel like it. There are buses that can
take you from the airport to the train station, and from there you are already
in a pretty interesting part of Belfast. The train station is located under or
near (depends on how you look at it, either way you won’t get lost) a famous
hotel in Belfast – it’s the most bombed hotel in Europe actually. It’s worth
looking from the outside just because of its history; otherwise, it’s a
perfectly functioning hotel. You can always ask if there are any memorabilia
from the bombings in the hotel but there weren’t any when I was there, so just
cross the street and enter the Crown Bar for your first Guinness of your trip
(you should have a Guinness; even if
you don’t really like it, you’ll like it in Ireland and I’m speaking from
personal experience).
Keep in mind that you will need to exchange money into
British currency and they are really expensive so don’t spend all of your money
in the pubs and tourist attractions in Belfast.
Small trivia for those who watch Sons of Anarchy: You can see the hotel I mentioned before when the Sons arrive in Belfast in season 3 (^^)
Waiting for the next train:
You
can pretty much go anywhere from Belfast, it’s a central location, but since I
was in the north, I decided to head even further in that direction. So, while
my friend and I were waiting for the next train to County Antrim we decided to
explore the nearby Murals. They are at a walking distance from the Crown Bar,
so you won’t get lost. Basically they are drawings on walls and houses
depicting the historical turmoil of the past. There are dedications to famous
RIRA members and fighters, like Bobby Sands, and various other drawings devoted
to Human Rights movements and the like. Near the Murals in Belfast you will
find a beautiful Catholic church worth a look.
Here are some of my favorite pictures of the Murals. I had trouble picking which ones to upload because there were so many awesome to choose from!
An Amnesty International dedication |
We saw a lot of IRA graffiti and drawings along with the other Murals |
This wall extended for miles and visitors or residents had written messages of peace on it |
One of my favorite dedications to Bobby Sands |
The front of the church at the Murals |
Ballintoy, Carrick-a-Rede
Rope Bridge and the Giant’s Causeway:
Once
you arrive at County Antrim, you can take a bus to Ballintoy, which is a small
village off the coast of Northern Ireland. Talking about your magical scenery:
you have miles of green fields that touch the water and once you reach the sea
strand, you get more miles of sand and rocks; overall this village looks like
it came out of a dream.
I'd totally wanna live here... |
Fun fact: Ballintoy was the location picked for the town of Pyke from the series Game of Thrones so this should give you an idea of what you’ll be seeing. Find the hostel called Sheep Island View; that’s the closest to the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. After checking in, you should head straight to the beach for pictures that will remind you of just how awesome this place is. For a city girl like myself, I can safely say that the image of the grass turning into sand turning into water with the occasional rock formations is something that will stay with me for the longest time. Plus, the air in this area is completely different; you haven’t had a breath of fresh air until you visit Ballintoy.
I'd totally wanna live here too... |
Depending
on how late your plain/train-bus ride was, you can visit the Carrick-a-Rede Rope
Bridge on the same day or not. My advice: wait until the next day. First of
all, Ballintoy is totally worth exploring at any time of the day (just make
sure you can see where you’re going especially if you’re trying to get that one
awesome shot near the rocks) and second of all, you should totally end your day
of travels with dinner at one of the local restaurants. I forgot what the name
of the one my friend and I went to was, but it shouldn’t be hard to find. Just
look for the pub down the road that has the statues of two old men on a balcony-looking
structure on top of the entrance.
Inside, you can enjoy tea, a traditional
Irish stew and the most delicious bread in the world. Then, head back to the
Sheep Island View Hostel, enjoy some late night snack that the previous
visitors left (it’s the hostel’s policy to share everything they have and
visitors follow their example by leaving food that doesn’t go bad and things
like plates and utensils for the next people who come, plus the owners are some
of the nicest people in the world) and head to bed so you can wake up early.
This is what you wake up to (^^)
Our
first stop the next day was the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. In very simple
terms, yes, it’s a rope bridge that you get to cross for a small fee. There is
someone on each side to guide you through the procedure (i.e. no jumping up and
down on the bridge) and once you cross, you can also see the house of one of
the last fishermen on that part of the island. I could describe how absolutely
beautiful the area is, but I could get tiring. So I’ll let the pictures do my
work for me.
People crossing the bridge |
The house of the last fisherman on that island |
You also get a great view of Scotland and Rathlin
Island (at the most north part of Ireland) from there so again, enjoy the view.
There are a lot of people that want to see the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge so
arrive early!!!
Now,
I didn’t get to visit the Giant’s Causeway due to lack of time, but if you can,
you should go. I doubt there’s anything not worth seeing in this part of
Ireland anyway…
P.s
Ireland’s called the Sheep Island for a reason: 5 million people, and almost 8
million sheep. Take a picture near some sheep – the faces they make while they
sit still, deciding if you’re a threat or not, are priceless.

Tic toc
You only need 90 minutes to convince your
future husband that you’re the one (^__^)
0-5: The first
impression
Subconsciously, what a man is looking for
in a woman is, first of all, to look healthy. So, make sure you’re wearing
blush and you’re not slouching.
5-10: The approach
To begin a conversation, ask him for help.
For example, ask him how to set up something on your IPhone. Men love to feel
useful and needed.
10-30: Body
language
Try to look cool. Don’t cross your legs or
your arms and lean towards him. Try to make slow moves; during the
conversation, try to say his name, it’s gonna make his ego escalate.
30-60: Chemistry
Try to make him feel close to you; for
example, mimic his hand moves.
60-70: Flirt
Try to be mysterious but nice as well. For
example, if he asks you on a date (let’s say for Friday) tell him to make it on
Saturday. Play hard to get, but not too much. You don’t want him to feel like
you’re trying to avoid going on a date with him at all. Confidence and mystery
are the best combination.
70-90: Intimacy
Don’t share your whole life’s story;
ex-boyfriends or how angry your bff makes your feel. Try to share something
small and wait for him to respond to it; if he shares something small as well,
you’re on the right path.

The truth about friendship between women
Some people believe that this kind of friendship can't exist, some others that it is possible. What's the truth?
Well, it's kind of true that a real women friendship is hard to exist but have you ever wondered what's the truth that makes women incapable of making good friendships?
Truth #1 Men and women are so different
At first, the two sexes express their intimacy with different ways. Also, the subjects of discussion are very different; men don't usually share their feelings or their thoughts with their friends but women find that a fundamental factor for their friendships
Truth#2 Women forgive less easily than men
The reason that this happens is that women tend to set high standards for their friendships and because of that every mistake can unsettle their friendship
Truth #3 Competition and jealousy between women
Women tend to feel envy for their friends even if they don't want to..usually because of boyfriends, carrier or social status...if the friend that feels lower cant control or hide their feelings the end of the friendship is close
Truth #4 Can it be?
Even thought is hard, true friendship between women is possible if both friends want so and also try...there shouldn't be any factor to break that friendship cuz if it happens it means that this friendship wasn't real all along ...or it was unilaterally real

The Devil's in the Details
Having
to paint your nails every two or three days cuz your regular polish chips can
be annoying but also requires a lot of time and money. That’s why all the
“permanent” solutions are so popular. There are a lot of different options,
such as silk, acrylic, gel and the newest UV gel nail polish, many of which you
can do at home as well! Having experienced all of these options, I can
enlighten you if you want to find the best option for you.
-
Acrylic: It has been a long time since it was in fashion. A lot of
people find acrylic nails fake looking and, in my opinion, if you don’t have a problem
with your nail length (if you don’t chew on them or if they naturally break),
don’t try them. It’s impossible to put them on alone, but even if you go to a
nail salon, when you take them off your nails will be weak, thin and damaged.
It takes them a lot of time to recover and you might have to spend extra money
on their recovery.
-
Silk: It’s a great solution because the result is more natural
looking. Your nails won’t be destroyed after you take them off but it’s also
pretty difficult to do it alone at home. But, if you are a fan of colors, like
me, you’ll find a disadvantage in the fact that they only come in the style of
French manicure.
-
Gel: Well, my almost favorite. If you have some time to spend
learning how to do it alone, you can do it at home! It’s not very easy, but
it’s not too hard either. It demands a lot of time but the result is great,
natural and it doesn’t chip. There are plenty of colors to choose from. It
makes your nails stronger as long as you wear it. The only disadvantage is that
when you eventually take it off your nails will be weak, but not weak enough to
crack or become damaged.
-
UV Gel Polish: I can’t hide that this is my favorite.
It’s so easy; the process is exactly the same as painting your nails with an
ordinary nail polish. The only extra thing you need to do is to put every layer
under the UV light for 2-3 minutes. And then, your nails are shiny and strong,
same as in the Gel technique, for at least 20 days. There are also a lot of
colors to choose from. It takes me about 30 minutes to do it but for 20 days I
don’t have to worry about my nails, because afterwards they are perfect; also,
UV Gels can’t be scratched, so the product remains shiny and flawless.

Jessica Rabbit Make Up Tips
Well nobody can transform into a cartoon...but we can certainly try to adopt the lustful gaze Jessica Rabbit has!
You are going to need:
- very good cream foundation half tone lighter than your face and a concealer.
- bronze blush two tones darker than your foundation and a big brush to apply
- a good black eye-liner, light purple, pink, purple and brown eye-shadow and mascara
- and of course a red lip-liner (check witch tone of red fits you best..otherwise you're gonna hate the result) and a same tone red lipstick and lip-gloss
Now carefully apply pink eyeshadow to your upper lid then put thelight purple shadow only on the start of the upper lid (pic 1)... then you have to apply dark purple on the upper lid (pic 2) on the right..in the end you apply the brown shadow in the end of the upper lid and under the eye carefully with a thin hard brush (pic 3)
You have to paint your lips carefully with the red lip-liner..then with the lipstick and in the end you apply the lip-gloss! READY!
