Happy
Valentine’s Day!!! Or Single Awareness Day – depends on how you look at it :P
Today’s
post is a fun cake recipe that is very easy to make, healthy and great for
Valentine’s Day or any occasion if you don’t feel like eating cake that has
creams and sugary decorations on it. This cake is also very healthy since it
doesn’t contain butter – instead the butter is substituted with extra virgin olive oil.
This is
a whole wheat cake recipe!!!!
This is
what you will need:
Note:
we use the metric system here in Europe so everything is in grams, kilos, ml
and the like…
500gr
whole wheat flour
200ml
extra virgin olive oil
450gr
sugar
4-5
eggs
300ml
milk
1
teaspoon of French Vanilla powder
How to make the cake:
Put the
olive oil in a mixer and beat it while slowly adding the eggs one by one and
the sugar. Continue beating the mix for about 3 minutes. Then, consecutively,
add the whole wheat flour, the milk and the Vanilla capsule while stirring
slowly. Place the mix in a kitchen oven dish which you have greased with oil
and flour. Put the dish in the oven, which you need to preheat – leave it to
bake for about an hour and check it from time to time. Let it sit for about 10
minutes and when it’s cooled down take it out of the dish and serve. Make sure
it’s cooled enough to take out of the dish, otherwise it will get stuck in the
dish and consequently ruined.
p.s You can add chocolate sprinkles in the mix if you want to add a taste of chocolate to your cake.
Enjoy your healthy cake (^_^)
